Development within the Individual: Community and Societal Supports

From May 2015 to July 2015, I worked as a live-in assistant for people with disabilities in a L’Arche Canada home. During this time, I formed ideas of what it means to contribute to development through enhancing an individual’s well-being. Using my experiences in this caregiver role, I will argue that development occurs with direct individual intervention that upholds the dignity of human person.
